The Australian National University’s Student Mobility Program (SMP) has been in operation for over 10 years. Visiting international students can combine academic study and a wealth of social and cultural opportunities over a period of one to two semesters. If your home university is an ANU Exchange Partner or a College Exchange Partner you can apply to ANU as an Exchange student.
Otherwise, you can come to ANU as a fee paying Study Abroad student, either by applying directly to ANU or through a Sponsor Organisation. Criteria for Exchange and Study Abroad students.
| The application process normally begins 6 months ahead of your anticipated departure date, because it can take considerable time to finalise. If your application is successful, you will need to organise your Australian Student Visa. If you are interested in the Australian National Internships Program, you should complete the Study Abroad/Exchange Application and also the separate ANIP Application from and send both applications to our office.
