Student Mobility Program (Exchange and Study Abroad)

If a University has a General or College Specific Student Exchange Agreement with ANU then an application can be made for admission as an Exchange Student. All exchange students must be nominated by the International or Study Abroad Office at their home university. Please note that Exchange applications will only be accepted if we receive a nomination letter from a university which is an Exchange partner in support of the application.

If a University does not have a Student Exchange Agreement with ANU, then an application can be made for admission as a Study Abroad (Direct) student by applying directly to the ANU as a fee paying student or, as a Study Abroad (Sponsored) student who pay fees to a Study Abroad Agent or Sponsor organisation.

Successful applicants may enrol for either one or two semesters at ANU with the approval of an applicants home university.

Course Selection

Online course information is updated in September-October each year and a downloadable version of the ANU handbook  is updated in November each year.  If students are intending to apply in September (before the Handbook is available for 2010) they can refer to the current Online Handbook for 2009, as many of the course entries will indicate if they are to run in the following year.

We encourage students to:

Search course listings on the Study@ANU website; ·

Select and provide six courses they wish to undertake; ·

Liaise with the academic adviser at their home university about their course selection to ensure they will receive credit at their home university.

Please note: Entry to some graduate courses is limited. Questions about eligibility and prerequisites to enter courses must be emailed to our Academic Adviser: Dr Mervyn Aston at studyabroad.info@anu.edu.au
