Academic Program Area's Responsibilities
|

Assess each application carefully and ensure a best course and academic fit for the student.
-
At time of offer, if appropriate, indicate need for bridging or training courses prior to commencement of award course.
-
At time of offer list any course specific extra costs (eg field work requirements - Forestry, Admission to Bar - Legal Workshop).
-
Monitor student's academic progress to help ensure that the course/award end dates will be met. This is especially relevant for Masters and PhD students.
-
Inform the AusAID Liaison Officer early of major issues affecting the student's academic progress or welfare.
-
Research supervisors (Masters and PhD) have a responsibility for ensuring that ADS students COMPLETE ON TIME. Delays caused by change of supervisor, equipment failures etc. will be deemed by AusAID to be an 'ANU responsibility' and AusAID will expect Schools and Departments to contribute financially to the cost of any extension.
