Graduate Research in Engineering
Graduate Research in Engineering at ANU occurs in several areas of the University, and includes expert staff in:
Research School of Physical Sciences and Engineering (RSPhysSE)
NICTA
In the College of Engineering and Computer Science, approximately 50 academics with broad-ranging expertise in engineering offer dedicated, personalised supervision to graduate students. A Graduate Convener, Associate Dean (Higher Degree Research), Academic Advisers and Heads of Departments all provide additional advice and assistance. The College currently has 50 graduate students in its Department of Engineering, and 70 graduate students in the Department of Information Engineering.
Both departments have a friendly and productive research atmosphere where academic staff, visitors and graduate students work on a variety of research projects. In this environment, and because our research quality is of the highest international standard, international links with research institutions are common.
Collaboration with a variety of research institutions, like RSPhysSE, NICTA and others, enables students to build important academic and industrial networks for the future.
ANU research in engineering focuses on:
- Advanced Materials and Manufacturing
- Applied Signals and Telecommunications
- Complex Systems and Control
- Photovoltaic Solar Science and Technologies
- Robotics and Computer Vision
- Solar Thermal Science and Technologies
ANU offers two higher research degrees:
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
- Master of Philosophy (MPhil)
We welcome graduate enquiries.
