Graduate Research in Computer ScienceGraduate Research in Computer Science at ANU occurs in several areas of the University, and includes expert staff in: ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) ANU Mathematical Sciences Institute (MSI) NICTA In the ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science, approximately 50 academics with broad-ranging expertise in computer science offer dedicated, personalised supervision to graduate students. A Graduate Convener, Associate Dean (Higher Degree Research), Academic Advisers and Heads of Departments all provide additional advice and assistance. The College currently has 30 graduate students in its Computer Sciences Laboratory, and 40 graduate students in the Department of Computer Science. Both departments have a friendly and productive research atmosphere where academic staff, visitors and graduate students work on a variety of research projects. In this environment, and because our research quality is of the highest international standard, international links with research institutions are common. Collaboration with a variety of research institutions, like NICTA, MSI and others, enables students to build important academic and industrial networks for the future. ANU research in computer science focuses on: - Artificial Intelligence
- Algorithms and Data
- Computational Mathematics (mainly in MSI)
- Computer and Programming Language Systems
- Information and Human Centered Computing
- Software Intensive Systems Engineering
ANU offers two higher research degrees: - Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
- Master of Philosophy (MPhil)
