Graduate Research in Astronomy & Astrophysics

Graduate Research in Astronomy & Astrophysics at ANU offers graduate students access to one of the highest concentrations of experts in the field, as well as to some of the world's best observing facilities. The research interests of staff involved in astronomy and astrophysics at ANU cover the length and breadth of astronomy and astrophysics, ranging from planetary science, cosmology, instrumentation and theory. The synergy between observational astronomy and theory is a particular strength as is the synergy between cutting edge instrument design and outstanding problems in observational astrophysics. Most of the research into astronomy and astrophysics is conducted within the world renowned Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics (RSAA), as well as some in Research School of Physical Sciences and Engineering (RSPhysSE), Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES) through the Planetary Sciences Institute (PSI), and in the Mathematical Sciences Institute (MSI), all within the ANU College of Science.
