Application Process

Step 1 - Choose up to three academic units/projects/supervisors you would like to be considered for. Each academic unit has its own website with a list of available projects/supervisors. Links to the academic unit websites can be found on the central Summer Research Scholarships website.

Step 2 - Fill out the online application form. You will need to list the academic units/projects/supervisors you would like to be considered for in order of preference (maximum three). Please note that the online application form automatically times out after 60 minutes. If you would like to prepare your answers before you fill out the form, please download the sample application form. Your online application form must be submitted by 31 August 2009.

Step 3 - Send a copy of your academic transcript to the contact officer in each of the academic units you are applying to by 31 August 2009. The contact officer’s details can be found on the academic unit website. Please do not send your academic transcript before 1 August.

Step 4 - Ask two academic referees to send a referee’s report to the contact officer in each of the academic units you are applying to by 31 August 2009. The referees can download and fill out the Referee’s Questionnaire. Please note: the referees must send their reports directly to the contact officer(s).

Your application form, academic transcript and referees reports must be received by the University by 31 August 2009 for your application to be considered complete. If the University does not receive all three components of your application, your application will not be assessed.

Offers will be made from two weeks after the application closing deadline (from mid-September 2009). You can direct any questions about your application status to the contact officers in the academic units you applied to from mid-September 2009.
