The following changes to the delegations system were approved by the Vice-Chancellor:


September 2008 - April 2009

Executive Delegations
In December 2008, the Vice-Chancellor approved the creation of a new transferrable Executive delegation to provide for the authority to sign a statutory declaration on behalf of the University (1.11A).

Research Management Delegations
In December 2008, the Vice-Chancellor approved a change from Director to College Dean for grant and consultancy applications and for signing research contracts and grant and consultancy agreements (9.2, 9.3 and 9.4).  The Head of Budget Unit profile has also been given these delegations.

Council and Boards Secretariat Delegations
Delegates who can direct the affixation of the University Seal have been revised to accord with the provisions of the University Seal Statute.  The Council and Boards Secretariat delegations have been changed accordingly (11.5).


May - August 2008

Academic Delegations
Changes were made to some Academic category delegations arising from revisions to the Graduate Coursework Awards Rules, Research Awards Rules and Undergraduate Awards Rules in May and July 2008.

Human Resources Delegations
In July 2008, the Vice-Chancellor approved a revised set of policies, procedures and guidelines relating to Heads of Academic Organisational Units. College Deans have been given the delegation to appoint Heads of Academic Organisational Units.

In August 2008, the Vice-Chancellor formally delegated to the Director, Human Resources, authority to approve leave and travel for College Deans, Directors of Research Schools and Faculties, and Heads of University Centres.

Division of Information Delegations
Changes were made to the Division of Information category of delegations arising from revisions to the Information Infrastructure and Services Statute and Rules in May 2008.
