An innovative apartment development providing accommodation for 350 students is to be built in the new City West precinct.

The project (artist's impression above) will offer studio, two, three and five-bedroom self-contained apartments. It will also provide support facilities that are expected to include a bistro, common recreation areas, laundry facilities, state of the art electronic security, and a high level of pastoral care for students.
The University has awarded a contract to develop the facility to a consortium comprising Baulderstone Hornibrook, UniLodge and The Royal Bank of Scotland.
This project is part of the University’s response to a forecast increase in student numbers, particularly at the postgraduate level. The consortium will finance, design, construct and operate the facility, which is due for completion in 2006.
