Staff initiative speeds up range of ANU student applications

A new online system is allowing ANU to process international and postgraduate domestic student applications with far greater efficiency than ever before.

Student Administration Services (SAS) and the Division of Information have implemented StudyLink AppManager – meaning ANU will receive an application from a prospective student within 24 hours of it being submitted from anywhere in the world.

The information from the applicant is downloaded directly to the ANU Student system, reducing data entry and allowing staff to receive and assess applications with greater efficiency.

“We recently made an offer to a postgraduate coursework applicant in Pakistan within three days of him submitting the application. Compared to the rest of the tertiary education sector, this is superb,” SAS Director Tim Beckett said.

“This efficient, professional and quick service means we’re potentially getting offers to students before our competitors do.”

The fully automated system includes custom forms, instant PDFs, integration into existing university systems, and flexibility around application fees. The application form can be accessed at several points on the ANU webpage. See http://info.anu.edu.au/studyat/ for more details.
