On Campus 16 May 2008

From the Vice-Chancellor

The past week has been a significant one for ANU. Last Friday we reopened the repaired and renovated Llewellyn Hall with a concert that showcased the talents of our students and staff, and the new acoustics of our Hall. The Hall looks and sounds wonderful, and is a performance, teaching and ceremonial venue the University can be proud of. >>

Clarification on salary sacrifice
The article in last edition regarding what salary sacrificing ANU is able to offer under ATO rules should have stated that as a Commonwealth institution, ANU does not meet the ATO definition of a health promotion charity, ambulance service, religious institutions or not-for- profit company, and so does not receive the concessions that enable it to offer salary sacrificing for rent, mortgage, school fees and other similar items. Further information can be obtained by visiting the ATO Website here.
