| The University and unions representing ANU staff are set to start working towards negotiating a new enterprise agreement.
The current ANU enterprise agreement is up for re-negotiation and a team of senior academic and general management representatives will meet with the unions that are party to the agreement over the coming weeks.
In preparation for the process, the Vice-Chancellor requested that Colleges and Divisions hold staff meeting to seek feedback on what employees think would be the appropriate changes to the agreement. The Unions will also be holding meetings with staff to explain their log of claims and seek their views. These are being held the week after Easter.
Chair of the ANU negotiating team, HR Director Ron Watts said the process is important for the University. "There are lots of opportunities for staff to have their say and the Vice-Chancellor wants to provide the best conditions for staff that the University can afford," he said.
Once agreement is reached, further information sessions will be held by both the University and the unions to explain the changes to staff before they are asked to take part in an electronic vote on the agreement.
In the mean time, staff can provide their comments and view on the agreement via staffcomment@anu.edu.au
