More than 2,200 degrees were conferred, starting with the first cohort of ANU medical graduates at a ceremony at University House on 11 December. Staff and students of the medical school thanked the clinical staff and patients who supported them in the program’s first years.

The remaining college ceremonies were held at the AIS Arena on 20 and 21 December – the temporary venue for ANU graduations while Llewellyn Hall undergoes extensive refurbishment.

In a burgeoning ANU tradition, the ceremonies were also an opportunity to recognise graduates’ high school teachers with the ANU Prize for Excellence in Secondary School Teaching. Students were asked to nominate the teachers they felt were the most influential and effective in helping them on their path to ANU.
