Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)

The annual training course in the use of SCBA specifically for the laboratory environment will run over two sessions. The course will focus on the skills required for the safe use and operation of the SCBA to assist Budget Units in their containment control procedures. The course includes both theory and practical elements with a simulated clean up exercise for a spill in a designated lab. SCBA gear and absorption materials is provided by areas.

The tutorial is the first stage in the two-part program.  The first stage is the theory, followed by the second stage which includes the practical scenerio in two Budget Units.  Both parts of the tutorial must be attended to successfully complete the Self Contained Breathing Apparatus course.  Participants must enrol into the theory session and choose one practical session to attend.
