Provider: Human Resources, OHS Branch

Please click here to login to ANUBIS to register for this course

This course is designed for outdoor workers who may find themselves as the primary first responder in medical emergencies in remote or isolated areas and where delivery to an established medical facility could be delayed.

The course deals with the provision of first aid to a casualty in a remote or isolated area and their management over an extended period of time until the provision of medical assistance or evacuation of the casualty.

This course allows ample time for day and night outdoor scenarios where participants are exposed to the need for adapting to situations where outside assistance is not available.

Participants undertaking this course require a current senior first aid certificate.  The course will certify participants for three years, but yearly refreshers are recommended.  The course runs over three full days.  The first and third day run from 9 - 5 and the second day runs from 12 - 8 to have a night practical component included.  The venue for this second day is usually an off-campus site.
