Ionizing Radiation Safety

The program reviews the facilities, equipment, procedures and techniques necessary for the safe handling and use of radioactive materials, including fundamental health physics, detection, natural sources, control techniques, storage, disposal, emergency procedures and legislation. Participants are provided with a comprehensive set of notes detailing the ANU's work procedures. A competency assessment exam is conducted one week after the tutorial is held.
