This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge to interpret the requirements of legislation and standards relevant to the prevention of falls in the workplace. Information is also provided on the forces generated in falls and the types of equipment used in fall prevention. Training in the safe use of ladders is included. The course also includes the selection and use of fall arrest equipment applicable to the participants work environment, strengths/limitations of height safety equipment, care and maintenance of equipment, storage requirements, characteristics of rope and selection of safe anchorage points. The practical application of fall arrest equipment will be covered in detail. The course will certify participants for one year. Yearly refresher courses are required.

This courses is limited to ten participants because of the practical component and as such, the costs reflect this limitation.
