Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Session

Provider: Indigenous Employment, Human Resources

The Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Session is a 2.5 hour session introducing the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy to the University community.

The Session covers:

  • Rationale of the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy
  • History of Aboriginal employment in NSW and the ACT
  • Traditional beliefs and practices of Aboriginal people in NSW
  • History of disadvantage faced by Indigenous Australians
  • Best Practice advice for supervisors and colleagues of Indigenous Australians

Sessions can be held for 10 – 30 staff members.

To register:

Log on to the training catalogue at http://training.anu.edu.au/default.asp or through ANUBIS (HORUS). The course code is HRICA1.  You will need to select which session you wish to attend.

Alternatively, a session can be arranged for your area if you have sufficient participant numbers.
