The Australian National Universities 25 and 40 year service medallion.

Purpose

To recognise the contributions of staff who have served the University over a 25 or 40-year period.


Eligibility

All active staff members who have worked at the University for at least 25 years and 40 years respectively as of 31 December in the year of application are eligible. Eligible staff who retire from the University prior to the date of the ceremony can still be considered for a service award in that year.

Nature

For 25 years of service: A commemorative medallion.
For 40 years of service: An engraved glass art work from the ANU School of Arts.

Nomination Procedure

Staff members can be nominated by themselves, colleagues or HR/administrative staff in their area. HR Division will verify and confirm eligible recipients in cooperation with local area administrative staff. Nominations should be in writing, and should include the following information:

  • Full name, title and position of candidate
  • University ID number
  • Contact details of staff member
  • Name and contact details of the candidate's supervisor
  • Commencement date of ANU service, and details of periods of service (unless unbroken period).

The 25-Year Service Medallion acknowledges the commitment and achievement of staff members who have worked at ANU for at least 25 years.

The 40-Year Service Medallion acknowledges the commitment and achievement of staff members who have worked at ANU for at least 40 years.

ANU Awards Ceremony - 2009


This Ceremony is an opportunity for the University to recognise the contribution and achievement of many of its staff. 

Staff who have reached the 25 and 40 year milestones and staff who have been awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Awards for achievement, service and contribution to the University, will be recognised at this event.

It will be an occasion to celebrate the role of all staff in making The Australian National University one of the best universities in the world.

The Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor warmly invite all staff to attend.
