Vice Chancellor's Award for Innovation & Excellence in Service Quality

  

Purpose

To encourage, promote and recognise staff innovation and excellence in service quality that supports the University's mission and core activities of research and education in an enlightened and efficient manner.

Nature

A commemorative plaque and $1,000. Up to five awards may be made in any given year. Award winning teams will receive a commemorative plaque and team members will share up to $4,000.

Eligibility

All work areas, teams and individual staff members of the University are eligible for this Award. Candidates will need the support of a sponsor, that is, a supervisor or other person within the University who will prepare the Supporting Statement.

Criteria

Nominations will be assessed on the basis of written evidence that supports achievement of innovation and excellence in one or more of the following areas:

  • Demonstrated improvement in the quality of service provision for students and/or staff;
  • Demonstrated initiatives resulting in considerable cost reductions and efficiencies in work practices or processes;
  • Demonstrated benefits in the innovative application of Information Technology to administration, teaching and/or research;
  • Demonstrated contributions to creating an enabling culture within the University's administration.

Nomination Procedure

Documentation to be submitted with the nomination must include:

  • Completed ANU Awards Nomination form (pdf document);
  • Sponsor's written statement (of no more than two pages) supporting the nomination. Team or work area nominations should identify the members of the team to be nominated; and
  • Endorsement of a College Dean/Director or Senior Executive of the University.

ANU Awards Ceremony - 2009


This Ceremony is an opportunity for the University to recognise the contribution and achievement of many of its staff. 

Staff who have reached the 25 and 40 year milestones and staff who have been awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Awards for achievement, service and contribution to the University, will be recognised at this event.

It will be an occasion to celebrate the role of all staff in making The Australian National University one of the best universities in the world.

The Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor warmly invite all staff to attend.
