ANU Enterprise Bargaining 2008

The University and unions representing ANU staff started negotiating a new enterprise agreement on 1 April 2008.

This site has been established to facilitate feedback from staff and help us communicate as we move though the process of creating a new agreement. Once agreement is

reached, information sessions will be held by both the University and the unions to explain the changes to all staff before you will asked to take part in an electronic vote on

the agreement.

This page will be updated periodically to keep staff informed of progress.  Staff are encouraged to provide their comments and views via

staff.comment@anu.edu.au, or to contact the members of the negotiating teams direct.

24 November 2008

The ANU Enterprise Bargaining Teams (Management and Union) are pleased to announce that provisional agreement has been reached (subject to final Union membership endorsement) on the Varied ANU Enterprise Agreement 2005-2009.  This varies and extends the current agreement until 30 June 2009.  The reason this agreement is                         short is to allow us to consider the next Commonwealth government budget allocation and the economy before committing to the next pay increase in December 2009.

Apart from a 4.5% increase effective 27 November 2008, this agreement provides a number of benefits to staff which we trust you will find attractive.

Under the Workplace Relations Act, there is a 14-day rule consultation period for staff culminating in a staff vote.  At ANU, this vote is conducted electronically.

Staff briefings are being arranged prior to the voting process, when staff will have the chance to vote on the proposed Agreement as part of the formal certification process.         Dates and locations are as follows:

For your convenience we have provided the agreement in various sections below and have included a short summary called Agreement at a glance.
