14.   Classifications and Technical Staff Pool

14.1 Minimum Standards for Academic Levels
The Minimum Standards for Academic Levels (MSALs) from the date of this Agreement are the guidelines for ascertaining the nature and level of duties to be undertaken by academic staff and will be the reference from which performance expectations for academic staff are derived.

14.2 General Staff Position Classification Standards
The classification structure (including the Primary and Secondary Descriptors) for general staff from the date of this Agreement will be the guidelines for the performance and work value of the role undertaken by general staff members. All employment offers will be made in accordance with that structure.

14.3 Technical Staff Pool
Nothing in this Agreement will be taken as affecting the existing arrangements for the Technical Staff Pool, which facilitates the retention of skilled and experienced technical staff within the University.
