13. Employment Agreements
13.1 When the University enters into an agreement with a staff member, the Employment Agreement will contain:
13.1.1 the classification level, salary and applicable loadings effective on the date of commencement, the hours, and for other than casual staff members, the fraction of full-time hours to be worked and the length and terms of any probation period;
13.1.2 for fixed term employment, Research Academic Staff Career Employment (RASCE) or an employment scheme in S1.3, the term of the employment;
13.1.3 for casual staff members, the required duties (including a statement that additional duties will be paid at the appropriate level), and for casual general staff, option to apply and be considered for conversion to non-casual employment in accordance with existing arrangements; and
13.1.4 other main conditions of employment including the documentary, or other recorded sources from which such conditions derive, and the duties and reporting relationships.
13.2 Employment conditions for fixed term staff (academic and general)
For the purpose of determining service entitlements of a fixed term staff member, breaks between fixed term periods of employment of up to 2 times per year and of up to 8 weeks, or the period between terms of employment over the summer break, are deemed not to constitute breaks in continuous service.
