The Varied Australian National University Enterprise Agreement 2005-2008
Part One – Operation of agreement
10. University Staff Consultative Committee - Sub-committee
10.1 The University’s Council provides for a University Staff Consultative Committee (USCC) which is the main University-wide staff consultative body, and includes staff and management representatives.
10.2 The University has established the University Staff Consultative Committee – Sub Committee (USCC–SC) as a consultative committee for staff employment matters.
10.2.1 This committee, or representative members from the committee, may be convened for such matters as:
(a) a significant workplace change;
(b) consultation on the introduction of staff employment initiatives; and
(c) other significant staffing matters which may arise from time to time.
10.2.2 The committee will comprise individual staff representatives elected by staff from time to time; and representatives from those unions who have members at the University, as nominated from time to time.
10.2.3 The establishment of the USCC-SC does not limit the University's use of Local Area Consultative Committees (LACCs), staff focus groups or workplace forums when consulting on staff workplace matters.
The USCC-SC will comprise:
- A Chair who is a staff member of the University elected by all staff;
- One elected member of the academic staff employed at the University;
- One elected member of the general staff employed at the University;
- Two persons nominated by management;
- Two persons nominated by the NTEU from time to time; and
- One person nominated by the unions party to this Agreement other than the NTEU from time to time.
10.3 Election to the USCC-SC will be conducted every time the University seeks to certify a new Enterprise Agreement. Should an elected member resign from the USCC-SC during her or his term, or cease to be a staff member, the University will conduct an election to replace the member until the next scheduled election.
10.4 The USCC-SC will assist in the effective operation of this Agreement by performing functions as assigned to it by this Agreement.
