| Notes: |
The University has obligations under Superannuation Guarantee Legislation to provide a minimum superannuation provision to staff member's as required under the legislation. The University exceeds it's superannuation guarantee obligations by offering additonal superannuation contributions. The generous rate of superannuation contribution forms part of the remuneration to staff package, which in comparison to other employers in different industries in Australia, is very attractive. |
| Local Area Actions and Decisions (consistent with internal practice): |
- ANU policies and procedures should be followed at all times.
- Areas preparing their own contracts will ensure that new staff members receive an Induction Information Kit including UniSuper's 'Welcome to UniSuper' Product Disclosure Statements. Ensure that new staff members complete the Multiple Plan Application Form or Award Plus Plan Application Form.
- Ensure that all appointment papers including superannuation application forms are forwarded to the HR Division in a timely manner to meet relevant pay period deadlines.
|
| Central (HR Division) Processes: |
- Deal with all matters associated with setting up and maintenance of superannuation contribution records.
- Deal with communications with the superannuation schemes.
- Be responsible for sending contributions to the schemes and maintain integrity of the member contribution record.
- Provide guidance to members regarding superannuation options or referral of member enquiries to the schemes.
- Assist members with setting up spouse accounts, extra (voluntary) contributions and rolling over monies from other superannuation funds.
- Assist members with Temporary Incapacity and Disablement claims.
