Q2. How do I go about purchasing a new vehicle?A2. Advise University Fleet Services of the vehicle intended for purchase. Fleet Services will provide advice, arrange quotes and delivery times etc. You simply need to arrange a Purchase Requisition (authorized by your Head of Department/Delegate) and send a copy to University Fleet Services, Building #53, Garran Road. Q3. How long does it take to receive a new vehicle?A3. It depends on what type of vehicle is requested. Fleet Services can provide guidance on vehicle lead times. Please contact them at ANU.Fleet@anu.edu.au . Q4. Am I required to be authorised to drive a University vehicle?A4. Yes, the University requires you to be authorised to drive a University Vehicle. The "Application to Drive a University vehicle" form can be found on the University Motor Vehicle Policy web page. This form must be completed, and signed by the appropriate Agent/Delegate and filed within your Area/Business Unit. Driving authority is valid for one year from date of issue. Q5. How do I arrange vehicle servicing, repairs etc?A5. The University has a contract with LeasePlan Australia for vehicle servicing and maintenance. Please contact University Fleet Services to arrange for a vehicle service, or if you would like more information. Q6. How do I arrange for the disposal of a University vehicle?A6. The University is contracted to dispose of its vehicle through Pickles Auctions. These auctions are held on a weekly basis. Deliver your vehicle to University Fleet Services Bldg 53 Garran Road for it to be included in the disposal process, i.e. ANU staff sale, pre-auction sale, auction. The vehicle will then be detailed and evaluated. You will be notified of the expected reserve price placed on the vehicle so that you are able to make any adjustments. For further details please click here Q7. How do I order a fuel card?A7. A fuel card will be automatically ordered for you on the arrival of your new vehicle. If you need to make any changes to a card or cancel a card, contact University Fleet Services at ANU.Fleet@anu.edu.au. More information is located on the LeasePlan Starcard WebPages: Note: When you receive a new Fuel card, It is important that all old Fuel cards are returned to University Fleet Services to cancel off the system. Q8. How does the car registration renewal get paid?A8. All renewals and correspondence from the ACT Motor Registry, are sent to LeasePlan Australia (except for plant & equipment). LeasePlan Australia will renew registrations unless otherwise advised by University Fleet Services. Please advise Fleet Services if you wish to change the registration period. Registration renewals will be paid by LeasePlan and then charged to the University. Charges will then be journaled electronically to the budget code associated with the vehicle. Plant and equipment registrations are handed directly by Fleet Services and will be paid by purchase card. Q9. Can you arrange a rental car for me?A9. No, however there is a list of suppliers, rates and conditions for rental vehicles available.
Q10. Does my vehicle come with a breakdown service?A10. Yes. Roadside assistance is provided by Assist Australia (under the LeasePlan contract arrangement) or through the manufacturers standard roadside assistance offering. Details on roadside assistance are provided in the materials provided to drivers when new vehicles are delivered. Q11. What insurance does the University have for Motor Vehicles?A11.
