Letter of Release

If, as an international student, you seek to leave the ANU within 6 months of commencing your study, you will need a release letter from the ANU to enrol at another registered education provider.

1.

Make sure you have the following documentation:

  • Offer Letter from other registered education provider.
  • Original current visa and passport
  • Current Australian address provided
  • Current email address
  • Short Statement as to why you are requesting a release letter. (Why are you leaving the ANU)

 2.

Contact the Office of Policy and Regulation via email policy.regs@anu.edu.au or by coming to the International Education Office (IEO) Reception to make a booking. (Pauline Griffin Builing11)

 3.

The Registrar will assess each individual case.

 4.

Once the Registrar has signed the letter if your application is successful, OPAR will email an e-copy of the letter to you and if desired we can arrange for the original to be collected at the IEO Reception.

 5.

You will be advised when your eCoE from the Australian National University has been cancelled.

 6.

After you have received this notification you will need to visit your nearest Immigration Office with your release letter.

 7.

Please note that you will need to keep a copy of this letter for yourself, as it will be required to present to your new registered education provider.
