Academia can be something of an alien environment when students first arrive - it can be hard to pick up all the subtle social cues, difficult to find your way around and sometimes the inhabitants seem to speak a strange language all of their own!
SIGN Mentoring Program provides and opportunity for new students to link up with later year students and learn from their knowledge and experience of campus life.
The SIGN Program is available to local and international students, undergraduates and graduates.

A SIGN mentor is a later year student who acts as a facilitator for a small group of new students. The mentor helps new students adapt to University life, access campus resources and shares their 'implicit' or 'subconscious' knowledge about the ANU. They also facilitate meeting other students - by meeting up with other mentor groups, letting them know about clubs & societies, networks and resources.
Please note that undergraduate students may become mentors of undergraduates through the SIGN Program.
SIGNPOST
SIGNPOST is a 2008 initiative. This is an opportunity for graduate students to mentor new graduates. As far as possible, coursework students are matched with coursework mentors, and research students with research mentors.
