Undergraduate and Honours Students - thinking of Honours or graduate research in the future? If you are currently enrolled full time at a university in Australia or New Zealand, you can get a head start now!

A Summer Research Scholarship at The Australian National University is an exceptional research opportunity, providing insight into what studying for an Honours or a graduate research degree is all about. You will have the opportunity to work with leading scholars in your area of interest.

A Summer Research Scholarship includes:

  • Full board at Burgmann College
  • A weekly allowance
  • Return travel to Canberra
  • An opportunity to undertake a short research project on an approved topic

Duration: 8 to 11 weeks from mid November to early February

Step 1 - Fill out the online application form - Please note that the online application form times out after one hour.
You must hit the ‘Submit’ button at the end of the form – you should receive an acknowledgement message once you have done so. If you do not receive this message, please contact summer.scholarships@anu.edu.au

Step 2 – Send an electronic copy of your academic transcript to: summer.scholarships@anu.edu.au

Step 3 - You will need to ask two academic referees to write an email/letter of support for your application. The email/letter of support should be sent direct to: summer.scholarships@anu.edu.au

Available Fields of Study

* Due to unforseen staffing issues, the University is now unable to offer Summer Research Scholarships in the fields of Mental Health and Psychology for 2008/2009.
