Deputy and Pro Vice-Chancellor responsibilities

The Vice-Chancellor is supported by a Deputy Vice-Chancellor and two Pro Vice-Chancellors each of whom has specified areas of responsibility. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor is the standing alternate when the Vice-Chancellor, is absent. The responsibilities are:

Dr Andrew Smith provides support to all three on education-related matters.

Additionally, there are four university-wide sub-committees of the Academic Board: University Research Committee, University Education Committee, University Information Strategy Committee, University Community and Equity Committee.

The University has established portfolios in four key areas of activity. The Education and Research portfolios enable the University to fulfil its function of advancing and transmitting knowledge. The Information and Advancement portfolios support and enhance the education and research effort.
