Opportunities for staff to expand their horizons were highlighted at a recent ceremony marking the end of a career development scheme.
The latest 16 participants in the 12-month CareerAdvance Program, which is run by Human Resources, graduated at University House.
The scheme was set up as a Vice-Chancellor’s initiative in 2002 to foster more active career development through workshops, secondments, and mentoring.
Human Resources Director Mark Clisby congratulated the graduates, describing CareerAdvance as a key part of the University’s leadership program.
“All the staff who took part are already leaders, but this helps them to develop and strengthen that,” he said.
“We’re trying to build on leadership across the whole University. The strength to make the changes we need must come from all levels.”
